Site Context

The Site

The proposed application site extends to 3.4 ha and sits southeast of Stroude Road. It comprises Oak Tree Nurseries greenhouses and polytunnels with an existing access off Stroude Road.

The site is surrounded by woodland to the east and south, residential properties to the north and the Stroude Road Allotments, Edgell Close play area and residential properties to the west.

A Public Right of Way / Bridleway 46 / The Lane runs along the site’s southern boundary.

Accessibility 

The site is within a sustainable location with a variety of nearby local shops and restaurants.

The closest railway station is Virginia Water, located approximately 1.2 km southwest of the site (equivalent to a 15-minute walk or seven-minute cycle). The station is served by South Western Railway services to destinations London Waterloo, Reading and Weybridge.

The nearest bus stops to the site are located on Stroude Road providing routes between Staines and Virginia Water.

Virginia Water is also home to Wentworth Golf Club and other local attractions including Virginia Water Lake and Savill Garden.
