Proposed Development

Our vision is to create:

A landscape-led development that creates a thriving, attractive and sustainable place to live.
A natural extension to the village, carefully set within the landscape.
Utilisation/enhancement of an existing access point in the northwest corner of the site, off Stroude Road.
Well-connected green spaces through provision of new green corridors that enhance movement and access to nature.
Opportunities for new facilities such as forest trails, woodland play, and open space.
Provision of approximately 94 dwellings comprising 1-to-4-bedroom homes, across a mix of apartments, maisonettes, terraced houses, semi-detached and detached houses and including 50% affordable to meet a local need.
An attractive, safe, and secure residential environment where people will aspire to live.

Open Space

The proposal brings forward several new open spaces including:

An arrival garden and social space with new planting, picnic benches, and playable features.
A new gateway to the existing Edgell Close play area with a new tree lined pedestrian entrance.
Retention of boundary vegetation and creation of new landscaping and ecological enhancements within the site.
Creation of a new pedestrian / cycle link from the site, connecting to 'The Lane' and Public Right of Way BW46 to the south of the site.
New community facilities, including forest trails, woodland play and open space. These spaces will be accessible to all and will deliver meaningful benefits for the wider community.

Connectivity

Our plans include the delivery of new connections throughout the development.

Access is proposed via an enhanced access and pedestrian connection off Stroude Road.

Off the main road, at the entrance to the development, the proposed road will split into smaller streets and private driveways to give the site a more open, village-like feel. The proposed layout is designed so vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians can move easily around the site, with footpaths also providing accessible routes to the public green spaces.

A new pedestrian and cycle access is proposed to the south of the site, linking to the existing public right of way. A new pedestrian link will also be made to the existing Edgell Close play area.
